"Time" by Nachi the poet Aguboshim

THIS piece is broken into three parts, the past, the present and the future, all of which are measurements of time. I wanted to highlight the importance of time and its effect in our lives, from start and eventually finish.

PAST

Our past is filled with wisdom and culture though we see it as times gone by Acknowledge the work of our ancestors, don't let their spirit die

As Africans we are rulers and civilisers and in a time before time that was the case But outside forces then saw our unity, our strength and from their fear eventually came hate

We were moved from the motherland and then incorporated many of their negative traits

The problem with this is that within our community we now find it hard to relate The steps we make in our past can lead to our future The choice is now ours to what destiny we may endure.

The formation of a path and a journey for you to take A life is at your footstep and it's up to you to create So begin your process and be the catalyst for your stage You cannot write your story without your first page.

PRESENT

As we move on, the present is now our new point in time

They say slavery is abolished but it exists in the physical and mind

The IMF and the World Bank leech off our resources and exploit the very essence of our being

They do this because we are a threat to their existence and with that they seek out our ruin.

We need to Identify and understanding the power that we possess from within Don't become blind by technology and money, as they fill our hearts with sin.

Being civilisers, is such a long time away, as we are now divided by Geopolitics

The problem is that we are now sidetracked and we fail to see these tricks

'Sidetracked by what?' I hear you roar, what could make us lose our way?

Material possessions and our own ignorance it sickens me that these words I must say The present presents us with many challenges for us to overcome in unity

Your story is now making progress; do you know what your next step will be?

FUTURE

The future is something that humans out of fear try not to understand.

My sisters, my brothers are spirits are strong and our future is within our hands.

Open Minds by Nachi the poet Aguboshim

NOW I don’t wish to fill your head with negative thoughts and therefore infect your positive minds

I just wish to express how I feel and hope that with these words a solution we will find.

We reside in a country of diverse cultures and races, not attempting to live together

I stress the words, not attempting as our ignorant view of each other makes our situation no better.

The idea of a multi-cultural country and coexisting truly sounds sublime

But for that to be a reality we have to change our state of mind.

The youth are our map to the future and through nurturing them their greatness will come.

But our failure to notice their potential results in them quickly picking up a gun

We then look towards their parents and point that infamous finger of blame

Their response is to turn their backs, as they are now controlled by shame

People are judged by the colour of their skin, now is that a good treatment to receive?

Some think that ethnic minorities no longer endure racism, but it’s up to you what you believe

In a society were the issue of racism is so common that we embrace it like a child of our own Though your passport states that you are British, but be wise my brothers and sisters this will never be our home

A government that doesn’t relate to the needs of its people, so does democracy truly exist?

It’s like every day is in the season of winter, as our future fades deeper into the mist

Blair once formed an alliance with Bush to battle a ‘War on Terror’ on foreign lands

Disillusioned by pAwer and arrogance as the blood of the innocent drips from their hands Every year the crime rate rises and it becomes more of a risk to walk the street

Be it daytime or even night there isn’t enough police patrolling the beat The introduction of ASBO’s in the community has made crime merely a popular trend

If crime is seen as a simple pass time, then when will this mentality end?

Now these are just a couple of problems that we all know currently exist

All we need to do now is acknowledge them and not let ignorance be bliss.
Change the way we live

Expression by Nach "the poet" Aguboshim

Expression by Nachi "the poet" Aguboshim

Corporate blinded

In their heart is where they find it

Controlled by that almighty dollar

But have the nerve to call yourself a scholar

For that education that you have acquired

Tut tut. . .Leaves much to be desired

You should of kept your receipt

For that knowledge isn't that deep

Sick of their bullshit and verbal wordplay

Talking about changing the system, so with my words I shall slay

Slay you pretentious drones that are made from this twisted system

So fuck you with the hardest dick, I speak for all the victims

Hours burning through your soul, from shift to shift to shift

But when you get that money is it the curse or the gift?

Take time to think about that one, its not that easy to answer

As the words flow on I may get even harsher

This is for those who grind like they're working from pay check to pay check

But you don't care for us as long as your funds you protect

No apologies shall come from these lips

Like a vixen passing an STD, while grinding down on you with those hips

Politicians and the Government in which you reside

Need to stop spraying your bullshit and open your eyes

Though I am a father and future husband I can see why men do what they have to in this systems to survive

But at times this system is so messed up you have to do what it do and provide

Out of content? Maybe? I'm just expressing how I feel

For if I didn't express, could a brother truly be real?

EXPRESS!

"No Name" by Nachi "the poet" Aguboshim

I'm not quitting

I'm just getting. . .

A better form of definition

So to understand my mission

And build a path for my growing vision

Opening my mind like the doors that were previously closed

Purpose now resides here, its now my time to unfold

And erase the spirit vampires from my life, strange how blood is always thicker then water

For this water is the purist family, the ones I once trusted I left to their slaughter

As that is just the way it has to be the natural course of life

For when you step out of the darkness, you always see the light

Peace

Freestyle by Nachi "the poet" Aguboshim

Poetically speaking, are you feeling my rhythm?

Or is it more that I should be giving?

Like a slap to the face, such a high form of disrespect

As your temperature goes up like your manhood . . . Erect

So step with me as this is more then a verbal fusion

Its a mental mind f@@k, so leave behind the illusion

That this system is the ideal way that we should live

There has to be more, something has to give?

Isn't that the way, especially in this messed up western system

All up in a n@@ga's arse like s@@t in man's rectum

Apologies for the harsh words, profanity isn't my way to vent

I'm not a hypocrite like christians, who just go church to repent

I just wanna make sure that all my work is tight when it is sent

So that I feel that this freestyle is time well spent

Peace

"Higher" by Nachi "the poet" Aguboshim

"Higher" by Nachi "the poet" Aguboshim

Hold your head up high my people, but the sky isn't our limit

The light isn't that bright, if so like a switch, just dim it

Dare to ascend and reach goals higher then the mind could conceive

Tap into the untapped "11%" in the brain and you can then believe

That excuses of the "white man" and social decay are factors that we must no longer let hold us back

Everyone wants to be someone else, just be yourself and react

And set a path for yourself and live it like everyday may be your last

Cliché, I know that may be but this comes from the heart

As I myself embark on the path of fatherhood I present a man who was scared of the challenge new life can give

But the strength of being a loving father and future husband have given me a new reason to live

So lift your head up high and look higher still

Do the best you can and you will love the way you feel

Peace

"Cowards" by Nachi "the poet" Aguboshim

"Cowards" by Nachi "the poet" Aguboshim

We have never truly trusted you, as you hide in the shadows, with venom like a snake

For years we listen to you talk your bulls@@t, so sad that we tired to relate

And try and understand you and dare I say listen to the words that you felt made us react

Saying positive things to us, but you speak negative behind our back

A master of manipulation aiming to give you a paranoid state of mind

Don't fool for this foolishness or you shall then be confined

But we have now absorbed you in and filtered out all of "your" waste

Like writing in Microsoft Word we merely selected copy and paste

Luxor Cephren said "only take heart from words spoken from those close to thee"

Words spoken so true my brother, as cowards these people shall always be.

(Dedicated to those who words are an example of their own ignorance and fear - Try and learn for this is a new year)

"A Collection" by Nachi "the poet" Aguboshim

"A Collection" by Nachi "the poet" Aguboshim

‘Queen’

A Nubian Queen moves forward with a journey for her to take

With strength she acknowledges the choices she must make

An embodiment of her ancestors, so wise and so clean

Taking each day as it comes she formulates her dreams

So walk forward my sister and hold your head up high

You have no limits so reach past the sky

‘Motivation’

Nature is beautiful and so are we

Open your hearts and be the best that you can be

Self-doubting is self-inflicting confidence will help you strive

Put theory into practice and set your dreams alive

‘Acknowledge’

The worst lie to tell is the one you tell yourself

Address your problems and within shall come your help

We are all but human and answers are what we strive to find

Acknowledge, understand and unlock your programmed mind.

‘Hip Hop’

Universal it is through mass presentation

Deep is it through cultural progression?

Its words and beats together formulate

Negativity in children’s minds and violence for them to create

‘Role Model’

Look at how you are respected from the achievements within your life

Understand that many look up to you in the darkness you are their light.

So think about your actions and the words that you may say

For you are a role model each and everyday

‘Society’

Society forces us to conform to the standards set by others?

When really it is ourselves that we should try to discover.

Be an individual my friend and excel to be the best

Be a shepherd not a sheep and advance through this test

‘Winter’

The days move rapidly to night as the light fades away

The shadows now loom over us, as night replaces day

This transition is old but you find it hard to relate

Winter is now amongst us as the cold weather now takes shape

‘Relationships’

Time is very important, so make sure you invest it well

Choose the ideal partner and with that you shall propel

Understand that companionship is something one should want and not need

Be open and true to each other and your relationship shall succeed.

"Inspiration" by Nachi "the poet" Aguboshim

"Inspiration" by Nachi "the poet" Aguboshim

I wake up in the morning full of ideas

As I slowly reflect on the passing of the years

The essence of life the beauty of growth

Taking note of the things I cherish the most

Love from my family, strength from my friends

Important relationships that will never end

Whenever I’m am stressed I pick up my pen

And begin to write about the exploits of men

Crime, discrimination, racism and war

The rich get richer while the poor stay poor

If we open our eyes it is clear to see

That human nature is a disease that exists within you and me

Though my words sound harsh, I’m just stating the truth

If the world is dying then we are the proof

Now I’m going to change the mood to take you off guard

Remember life is a journey and trust me it’s hard

Never take people for granted, be honest and play your part

Then hopefully your inspiration will blossom in your heart.

"Back in the Day" by Nachi "the poet" Aguboshim

"Back in the Day" by Nachi "the poet" Aguboshim

Back in the day when it was all so plain to see

That there wasn't any differences between you and me

The issue of religion and colour, never crossed our minds

As we craved to explore every corner and new friendships for us to find

In Primary school lunch and "Nap-Time", the highlights of our day

Never truly listening to what the teachers would say

The weekends never came quickly, so we embraced it when it reached our path

Be it Knock-Down Ginger or Pat-Ball, memories so close to our hearts

Water fights at Burgess Park, or even football at the Astro-turf

Falling down and getting straight up, we never really got hurt

Remember that cute girl Melissa? The one from around your way

And that time you closed in to kiss her, it was clear she didn't want to play

2pm on a Saturday the Ice Cream Man's music would blaze all around the hood

Knowing you would only get that £1 if your mum thought you were good

When the street light finally came on, so did that scream from mummy's mouth:

"Playtime is over so get back in the house!"

"Sister" by Nachi "the poet" Aguboshim

"Sister" by Nachi "the poet" Aguboshim

So you asked him to tell you what he really does think

Only for the response, to make your heart slowly sink

Remember he is but a man and when he speaks the truth is what he will express

Take knowledge from these words and with that you shall eliminate the stress

Strength exists in all of us, look deeper and believe me it shall show

Though love has passed at this point, in time a new one shall grow

So hold your head up sister as there are brothers who can see your worth

A man who will treat you as his equal, and destroy any form of hurt.

Ups and downs there will be, as you take the good with the bad

Sharing life together as one this will truly be the best time you have ever had

Don't look back to the past, as it exists there for a reason

Your happiness is around the corner, so embrace it every season.

"A Prayer" by Nachi "the poet" Aguboshim

"A Prayer" by Nachi "the poet" Aguboshim

I have tried to be the best man that i can be, but my tracks repeat itself

So for the first time in 10 years, hands together i ask for your help

Guide me in this time as I have allowed women and money to take away my drive

My unhappiness is now ever present a factor i can no longer hide

When i was a boy love for your fellow man is what i was taught

It wasn't until this walk made me a man that i eventually gave it much thought

Thought that life is more then, work, work and then die

But to touch people and be true, and in turn open up their eyes

To a world, without the darkness one that invokes purpose and joy for all

Like the trees within the fields, with a strong foundation we stand tall

Thanks to you I have now opened my mind and in turn i have opened my heart

A heart i couldn't feel, when this journey was at the start.

“Write” by Nachi "the poet" Aguboshim

“Write” by Nachi "the poet" Aguboshim

Hand to pencil, then pencil to paper,
To express words now, one may forget later.

Mere seconds have emerged and your mind is no longer clear,
As you are now firmly within its grasp so words now appear.

It comes in stages, as not every line has precision,
With time ideas develop and there lays your vision.

You wonder how it got this way, that being the way that you would write,
Eating and sleeping seem such a waste of time as you drift deeper into the night.

A smile becomes visible as this foundation formulates,
Similes, metaphors and alliteration, through these, images you now create.

You then stop for a while, as writers block suddenly strikes. . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . .
. . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . In this state you lose direction, as if one had lost their sight.

Looking at your pencil, something inside materialises, like a figure within the mist
Writers block is in your mind, so let this pencil be the catalyst.

Closing your eyes, again you put this pencil to the paper,
Something feels different as the experience is greater.

Like water quenching your thirst, as each drop recharges your very soul
Or the beauty of a butterfly and its colours that freely flow

Be it the cool, gentle breeze that softly caresses your skin,
Or the birth of your child, that erupt feelings from within.

The sweet smell of roses, oh summer how we missed this in your absence,
Or chicken roasting for Sunday Dinner, such an alluring fragrance

The tender feeling of a kiss, from the one you love more then you can declare
Or those who are no longer with us, as their spirits ascend into the air

The birds singing elegantly as a new day begins to take shape,
Putting these words together, that is merely how you relate.

"Differences" by Nachi "the poet" Aguboshim

"Differences" by Nachi "the poet" Aguboshim
You spoke to them today, but behind your face they speak a different tune

Smiles and well wishing vanish, once you eventually leave the room

But I guess they have they're own agenda, as God made this the way it now is

Stuck within their own whirlpool of whispers, but dont get sucked in as ignorance is bliss

But gather your thoughts and focus as your direction has now changed

So focus on the ones that really matter my friend as your close circle has been re-arranged

In hard times you have to have people around you who will be there for you like you will for them

Like a tribe or better yet a family its what makes the difference boys and men

This is far from Batman but this Two-Face is as clear as day

So when their in your path just smile at them and keep going on your way

For the last thing you wanna do is get caught up in the way they think is right

Merely acknowledge that they are there and keep going on with your life.

Stay True to yourself

Peace

"Strength, Courage and Wisdom" by Nachi "the poet" Aguboshim

"Strength, Courage and Wisdom" by Nachi "the poet" Aguboshim

Listen to me closely as your worth more then Egyptian gold

Have faith and strength, courage and wisdom will eventually unfold

Nubian Queen, black beauty that flows like the wind

You are destined for greatness, so wait as your journey begins

Don't let past brothers effect you as they are fake like a silicone breast

Just brush them into the rubbish bin and lay their thoughts to rest

For your path is a righteous one, so follow it and be focused on your destination

As it will open your mind and soul, truly a revelation

So heed my words and take from it what you can.

Have strength, courage and wisdom and don't be validated by a man

Peace

"Freedom" by Nachi "the poet" Aguboshim

"Freedom" by Nachi "the poet" Aguboshim

Break their shackles from your limbs

Like being Baptised and removing sin

And take direction of your life like the compass is the very heart that beats

And stand as your own person on this now firm structure called your feet

Oppressed for centuries so we now emerge in a new era for our people

Setting our targets higher is what we must now do

Taking knowledge from those before us and applying it the best way we can

Positivity is now the key so no more talk of the "White Man"

Free yourself from physical and mental bonds and tap into that potential within your DNA

Don't perpetuate their black stereotypes for you are destined for a greater day

I say this as years ago I lacked the awareness and I too could see

But step into the light my friend and you alone will set you free

Peace

"The Struggle" by Nachi "the poet" Aguboshim

"The Struggle" by Nachi "the poet" Aguboshim

Your faced with a new chapter in your life, so what do you decide?

To embrace the good along with the bad, or would one rather hide?

Hide from the chance to learn and therefore grow to become better for your cause

Yet you refuse to acknowledge, so this causes your state of mind to pause

Your whole life has been a breeze, so like that wind it has quickly passed by

So quick this change has been, that only now you look back and ask "why?"

Why didn't I take that time to learn? Yet you remained comfortable like that was your hope

Addicted to this lifestyle like it was an injection of dope

But maybe that was your lession to learn

A path that you thought wasn't your turn

Remember that you learn from both the hard times and the good, though the hard times offer more growth

So face "Struggles" when they come and merely climb it up like a rope

Peace

"Substance" by Nachi "the poet" Aguboshim

"Substance" by Nachi "the poet" Aguboshim

You have clearly lost your mind like it had been surgically removed

Speaking without reason, so what are you trying to prove

That you lack true substance a quality that one is searching to find

So you attack me now my brother, as if you want to claim mine

Back stabbing is your nature, but there are laws for that crime

For the eternal clock is ticking, its just a matter of time

Hence why I'm tight with the words, flowing directly from my mind

Piercing your inner being like one was penetrating from behind

The truth is in the knowledge so we must obtain it at any means

To enhance as individuals and become better beings

But this movement is a tough one, designed to challenge and open doors

My life is growing with purpose, can that be said about yours?

Peace

"Fatherhood" by Nachi "the poet" Aguboshim

"Fatherhood" by Nachi "the poet" Aguboshim

The seed of life and the life of this seed

Love is unconditional as my heart will forever bleed

Bleed for my child underneath or above my flesh

For this is the ultimate challenge the truest of tests

In 3 months time this journey will be set in motion

When my queen takes that final push and causes a commotion

I said I wouldn't cry but that is the natural response for a man

As the ego surfaces and you try to hide emotion as best you can

But in reality you are scared, but for you this isn't the normal thing

Just open your eyes to this blessing and the joy that it shall bring

For this is one of the most sacred of unions

Like a Christian at the alter taking communion

So take this in your stride and be the soil to help this seed grow

And a powerful tree will be what will eventually show

Thank you

"2nd Nature" by Nachi "the poet" Aguboshim"

"2nd Nature" by Nachi "the poet" Aguboshim

Normally so good with words, but its hard to explain

When the thought process is deep and ideas develop within my brain

Like a safe deposit box I store them and open when the time is right

Be it the brightest day or the darkest of night

I feel a surge within, intense like a brother is about to release

So uplifting is the feeling, like a soul finding its peace

It feels like "2nd nature" like the very air that I breathe

So when I'm deep in it, it is hard for this brother to leave

A form of creation like I'm the designer or maker

For that's how I feel when I put this pen to paper

Peace

"Day Dreaming" by Nachi "the poet" Aguboshim

"Day Dreaming" by Nachi "the poet" Aguboshim

Day-dreaming, make believing a reality that doesn't exist

Deep in the thoughts of your mind, unfocused like the mist

A formation of ideas, colours and experiences that one shares and relates

So that you can escape from the harsh world and harmony you can create

A tranquil world and its outlook that offers promise and purpose

So slowing is your progress, like one was a tortoise

The scent, the touch all these feel so real for the embrace

So deeper you fall into your trance, never leaving this place

But as with most things, they must always come to an end

So until your eyes get heavy and your in the dreamland again

Peace

"Be Real" by Nachi "the poet" Aguboshim

"Be Real" by Nachi "the poet" Aguboshim

It is disappointing that we must have this conversation but its just the way it must be

As I try to yet again unleash, that potential that nobody else can see

Why do you continue to battle with the law? As the drugs claim you life

Smoking and injecting them inside you, as here now lays your plight

Rolling with the wrong crowd, you stay tight like the scooby-doo gang

Moving with no direction so what is the master plan?

Do you play into the hands of those who expect so little of you and highlight their lack of faith?

Or do you think outside that box and begin a new race?

As the whistle goes off you burst out of the lane

Eliminating the competition, for they shall now know your name

Just think of being better and search for that missing link

Take time my brother as you need to learn to think

"Empty Promises" by Nachi "the poet" Aguboshim

"Empty Promises" by Nachi "the poet" Aguboshim

Words have powerful meaning, even more so when they are said with false intentions

As this leads to disappointment, misunderstanding, and trust prevention

See many of us speak and don't realise the implications of our words

Spoken without meaning, but to those around us some meaning is heard

So they feed off these words, and they gather hope from within

Not seeing the Politician you are and the lies that you spin

Your responsibility as a disciple of knowledge is a role you should now leave

So that others who trust in you, will find the truth in them, that they should believe

Just speak from your heart my friend and if your true the words and intent shall be deep

And you can avoid people and yourself losing trust, if only a promise you could keep.

Peace
